Hi there,
I'm new at this so please bear with me.
I downloaded windump and winpcap 3.1 and installed as instructed. Referring to the documentation on the website, i opened up a command prompt, navigated to the folder on which the windump.exe resides and typed "windump -d". This should reveal all adapters on my system rite? However, all I got was this:
C:\Documents and Settings\christian.ITAC\Desktop>windump -d
windump: listening on \Device\NPF_GenericDialupAdapter
(000) ret #96
It doesn't seem to detect my Dlink NIC. Then I typed "windump" and got this:
C:\Documents and Settings\christian.ITAC\Desktop>windump
windump: listening on \Device\NPF_GenericDialupAdapter
After a while, I stopped the program by typing Ctrl + C, and got this result:
0 packets captured
0 packets received by filter
0 packets dropped by kernel
Am I operating the program correctly? Do help me so I can start capturing packets off my ethernet NIC. My system is Windows XP Pro SP2.
Thanx,
Christian
