Can you please try this?

>From the command line, first run "net start npf" and then "net start windump" and let me know if it works.

Have a nice day

Subject: [Windump] runing windump as a windows service

I am trying to set up a system with windump, I am using windows 2003 and would like to make sure that windump runs even though someone is not logged on.

I am using instsrv.exe from the Windows server 2003 resource kit, windump installs as a service ok, but when I try to start it I get the following message:

  C:\usr\apps\snort>net start windump

The service is not responding to the control function.

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2186.

  Thank you for any help,

  Pasquale
