color=#0000ff size=2>Yes, that did the trick. I installed 4.0 Beta1 on top of
the 3.1. It indicated that there was a version already there, and that it
couldn't be uninstalled, but gave me the option to continue. I did, and now
Ethereal is listing interfaces, so everything seems to be in working order.

Uninstall problem</DIV>

uninstall WinPcap when uninstalling Ethereal, and encountered some problems.
Now when I try to re-install WinPcap, it fails saying it is already installed,
but WinPcap does not show up in my Add/Remove Programs under Control panels. I
need to understand how to manually remove WinPcap so I can start the
installation over clean.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
