[Windump] problem with -C option in WinDump

I am using WinDump 3.8.3, which I understand should be equivalent to
tcpdump 3.8.3.
I am trying to use the -C option to limit the file size that I am
capturing raw packets in (using the -w option) to a reasonable size, and
let windump number additional files sequentially, just like I have
always done in tcpdump.
For testing, I set it to -C 1 (1MB file size limit), and it blew right
by this 1MB filesize limit without stopping and capturing more packets
in a new sequentially numbered file.
Is there a problem with WinDump supporting this feature, or am I doing
something wrong.
Thanks for your help.
Bob.
