Subject: [Windump] windump usage question
Hi,
I'm having a problem with a remote server that seems to misbehave and wanted to use windump/tcpreplay to debug the issue.
I captured a session with the server using windump and now I'm sending them out to the server using tcpreplay.
However, I need to capture responses from the server to the packets sent out with tcpreplay.
I thought I'd run windump (in one window) and then send packets out with tcpreplay (from another window) and capture server responses in windump.
I tried that, but windump didn't capture anything (it also didn't capture the packets sent out by tcpreplay). It did however captured packets that were sent to the server with a browser and the server responses (so windump works and the parameters are OK).
Question: Is this setup possible? If so - why don't I see any packets captured by windump? If no - could you recommend a setup that would work?
The setup makes completely sense, I have no idea why it doesn't work. Can you please provide more details on your testbed (OS version, WinPcap version, type of network card you are using)?
Also, which parameters did you use with windump?
Have a nice day
GV
Thx,
David
