Just Google "mac address" and you'll get all of the information you need on
this.

  Subject: [Winpcap-users] source/destination address format

  hi,

I am trying to build a network sniffer with vc++. when I looked at the
winpcap code I couldn't understand the format of the source/desination
address, which has the value 0:0:0:0:0:0 and 1:1:1:1:1:1 respectively. I
understand that having 1:1:1:1:1:1 will send packets to all the listenning
ports.

can somebody please help me to understand this ( what each bytes
represent). i am a new B to this. I would like to customize the source &
destination address.

thank you for your help in advance.
