[Winpcap-users] Remove GenericDialupAdapter from Win XP?

There's no way to disable such "fake" adapter without recompiling WinPcap's packet.dll. The adapter is not listed by Windows because Windows doesn't know of its existence. It's a fake adapter created by packet.dll. The reason why it's there is because it allows you to capture the handshake packets used when you establish a dialup/VPN connection (e.g. PPP LCP/NCP packets).

Have a nice day

Would anyone happen to know if there is a way to remove the GenericDialupAdapter (or whatever Windows calls it) from Win XP? It doesn't show up in the list of "Network Connections" or in Device Manager.

It would be convenient if it did not show up in the list of devices returned by pcap_findalldevs().

  Thanks,
  Don Washburn
