Thanks for the reply. It's good to know that the issue is being addressed.
The fix in the latest beta did not work for me. The main reason that I
posted my tip was to offer an alternative solution. The XP SP2 image that
I'm using must have some additional issues which cause the WinPcap installer
to fail to address the problem. For some users installing the Netmon package
from Microsoft might be a better solution, because it might be very
difficult for you to account for all of the non-standard or stripped
configurations of Windows (such as mine).

I didn't find the suggestion about installing Netmon during my searches on
Google. So I mostly wanted to share the idea as widely as possible so that
when someone else runs into the same problem, they can benefit from my
experience. The important thing is to resolve the issue one way or another.
