[Winpcap-users] understanding of Drone and wpcap

Hi,

 i need to have an indepth understanding of Drone and wpcap.
all that i know is that drone is a server which uses wpcap for capturing the
packets.
Can i have an indepth understanding of these 2, drone and wpcap, like at
what layer ( application/ network layer) they are connected, or what packets
are exchanged among the two, etc.

any links which describe these topics will also suffice.
