Hi GV,

Thanks for the info guys
Still having no luck with iphlpapi.lib. I have downloaded the PSDK-x86.exe
from microsoft but when it loads it wants a file from the microsoft downloads
"...../PSDK-AMD64_o-common.0.cab". It tries to get this from the net but
fails. You get no option to skip you can only cancel or retry. I have tried
downloading the PSDK-AMD64.exe but it will not run says it is not a Win32
application.

I cannot download the full SDK because it would take over 22 hours at our
dial up speed. We are too far from exchange to get broadband. I am currently
trying to get someone with broadband to download SDK onto a disk for me.

Does any one know if Micorsoft Visual C++ Express contains the necessary SDK
because I could download this?

Many thanks for the help and I accept that it is not a Winpcap issue.

Regards

Ray

Hi Ray,

Did you solve your linking problem? I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the
ip helper api LIB file (iphlpapi.lib) is not included in the "vanilla"
Visual C++ 6.0 installation, you need to install a version of the Microsoft
Platform SDK compatible with VC6 in order to have that lib file. This
version of the PSDK is available on the Microsoft web site at

http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate/psdk-full.htm.

Hope it helps
GV

Subject: [Winpcap-users] Link Error

Hi

I downloaded WpdPack_3_2_alpha earlier this week. I am running under
WIndows XP Version 5.1 using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0.

I have been trying to get the Examples-pcap applications to run. My problem
is that when I link I get the error:
"LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "Iphlpapi.lib"

Can anyone advise what I am doing wrong please

Regards

Ray
