[Winpcap-users] Broadcom Netxtreme & Timestamps

The reason why I asked this question, is that there seems to be inaccuracies
in timestamps on a trace captured with Ethereal V0.10.14 and WinPcap V3.1,
where they can be out by several seconds sometimes.

Apparently if the NIC card does not do the time stamping itself, it may pass
multiple packets in one go to WinPcap. I assume this would cause WinPcap to
put the time stamp on at that point, which may well be different to the time
the NIC received them?

Keith French.
